The Medical Internet of Things (MIoT) offers incredible benefits to patients, especially when their health can be monitored remotely by their doctors. Unfortunatley, as with all IoT environments, there are risks to privacy and security. Who is responsible for the end to end privacy and security of remote implantable or wearable medical devices? Is it the doctor, the doctor’s IT personnel, or the device manufacturer? This article addresses these areas of concern and a study that is underway to understand current perceptions.
