How can we rebuild the internet as a public good? NGI Forward will be hosting the capstone Policy Summit, Redistribute the internet, for the European Commission’s Next Generation Internet (NGI) initiative.
Over the course of three days, 29 November–1 December 2021, the Summit will set out an ambitious vision for the future of the internet through a series of 12 fireside chats with leading researchers, policymakers and industry experts. We will delve into three topics: keeping the internet global, a sustainable and interoperable internet, and the internet as a public good. Speakers will include Marietje Schaake, Dame Wendy Hall, Peter Pomerantsev, Bart Groothuis, Julia Reda, Cory Doctorow, Xiaowei Wang, Mohan Gandhi, Alice Munyua, Sophie Bloemen, Paul Keller, Alek Tarkowksi, Ethan Zuckerman and Katja Bejo.
