Experts named 17 best IoT projects of the year 2021
7/10/2021 – 11:08
Gurtam, the organizer of the international award IoT project of the year 2021, named 17 best telematics projects implemented during the last year.
This year’s triumphants were projects from a wide variety of fields and regions. The winners represent nine countries spread across the globe: Russia, Mexico, Australia, Egypt, Papua New Guinea, and others. Most entries were in the categories of public transportation, refrigerated trucking, and long-haul trucking. Most entries came from Russia and Central Asia – nearly 51%, South America – 17%, and North America – 10%.
“Analyzing this year’s projects, we saw that telematics has finally ceased to be just a facility for monitoring vehicle location and fuel control. This year’s projects show that telematics has become a tool that solves different types of challenges. For example, in wildlife and the environment, such as saving turtles; for unique tasks in the agriculture industry, such as monitoring beehives and bees in honey production in Chile; for ensuring the safety of children in Azerbaijani schools, or fighting food theft in Mexico. Telematics itself is transforming, evolving to be more and more sophisticated and integrated into the IT infrastructure of the companies: BI, CRM, and other solutions are becoming a part of the complex ecosystem that helps businesses to address more complicated objectives,” said Head of Wialon Alexander Kuushynau.
